Weird Weekend Web - Dec. 25, 2010

It's Christmas, so open up a fresh batch of some of the strangest, craziest and funniest videos the internet has to offer. Unappreciated gifts, golf ball target practice, birds with fly moves and a little bit of local love from that thing over at the Galleria the other day...

How Dare You?
Woe be unto the parents who dare giveth a book, that foul abomination of pulped trees and ink, to a child after bequeathing the gift of Nintendo. Cursed! shall thy name be for all eternity (or at least until the next present is bestowed).

Giving The Gift Of Fear
Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like dropping a fake grenade through the hatch of your buddies' Humvee in a war zone. It's so nice that they're all laughing and joking after the incident, but I'm still waiting for the inevitable payback video. (P.S.: There's a lot of shouting and screaming. No curse words are obvious, but it's entirely possible that this clip is Not Safe For Sensitive Ears for those with better hearing.)

The Gift Of More Power
A self-proclaimed "Car Aficionado" posted a video clip of himself under heavy anesthesia while having his wisdom teeth removed. What does a car lover dream of while completely blitzed on happy gas? Racing the Indy 500, apparently.

The Gift Of Feeling Inferior
As far as I can tell, these are the only golfers to ever attempt to hit a moving target that wasn't one of those golf-ball Zambonis you see on driving ranges. There's a certain peace in knowing that, no matter how long I live, you will never, ever, ever be able to shatter a clay pigeon with a golf ball from 100 yards.

Never Giving Up
You may have heard of -- or participated in -- that holiday caroling flash mob at the Galleria that didn't go quite as planned. (Oops.) Depending on which exit you left the mall in during the evacuation, you may or may not have seen the groups of people who refused to abandon their caroling dreams and kept on singing outside.

Oh, What A Beautiful Avalanche
Ever wanted to see an avalanche from the inside? Me neither. Ever wanted to see video of an avalanche from the inside, especially when the skier survives? Me too!

Fly Moves
Ever heard of a genre of music called "dubstep?" It's the marriage of clinical depression and computer drum machines -- it's not going to show up on your radio any time soon, don't worry. Apparently, it's also the secret language of birds, because the music suddenly makes sense now that I've seen this video. (By the way, I'm taking the dance move at ~2:06 for myself. It's awesome.)
