Letterman Expected To Announce Retirement On Thursday's Show

NEW YORK (CBS13) – David Letterman is expected to announce his impending retirement on Thursday night's show.

Mike Mills, The Late Show's bassist, tweeted the news just after 1 p.m.

CBS News later confirmed the announcement, which Letterman made during the taping of Thursday's show.

Letterman has been hosting The Late Show on CBS since 1992.
