You know how people always say that New Year's Eve ends up being an anti-climax? I have the same feeling about Halloween. I didn't always feel this way – as a child, I'd delve through the fancy dress box and excitedly play apple bobbing but then things quickly changed as I grew up. Toffee apples turned into overpriced apple sour shots and cutting up bin liners for costumes like you did as a kid was no longer enough. It seems you now end up spending a pretty hefty amount on an outfit that consists of very little material.
