Homeowners Turn The Tables On Stockton Robbery Suspect
STOCKTON (CBS13) - A Stockton robbery suspect got more than he bargained for on Monday after residents inside a home he allegedly targeted fought back.
At 10:19 Monday night, Miguel Gonzalez, 21, and another suspect went to a home on the 700 block of Belvedere Avenue and knocked on the door, requested to use the phone and then pushed their way inside, according to the Stockton Police Department.
Gonzales reportedly pulled out a gun and went to the back of the home. A fight ensued between the residents and Gonzales and his accomplice. The accomplice got away, but the residents were able to overpower Gonzales and hold him until police arrived.
Gonzalez was taken to an area hospital and treated for injuries to his face. After he was given medical clearance, he was arrested for residential robbery and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
The gun Gonzalez reportedly had turned out to be a pellet gun.
Police described the other suspect as a black male, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark, puffy jacket, dark jeans and a black beanie.
