Holiday Mocktails

There's a first time for everything. For Mark Mathis, it was drinking a mocktail this morning. Patty Mastraco, Raley's Senior Food Editor and Mixologist opened his eyes to some simple recipes guaranteed to please your non-drinking guests.

Mark says these were the first non-alcoholic drinks he's ever had in his hand that he still felt cool drinking...and, on top of that, he only told a story once.

Here are the recipes:


Holiday POM Ginger Sparkler

Ingredients:

Fresh ginger, Cinnamon, POM Wonderful Pomegranate juice, ginger ale, and apple juice from concentrate.

Directions:

1. Place 2 to 3 thin slices of fresh ginger, a pinch of cinnamon, 1/2 cup POM Wonderful Pomegranate juice, 1/2 cup ginger ale and 2 tbsp. thawed apple juice concentrate in a martini shaker.

2. Add ice cubes and shake well

3. Strain into 2 martini glasses.

4. Garnish with POM Wonderful Arils.

Makes 2 drinks.


Rum Punch

Ingredients:

POM X Pomegranate Peach Passion White Team, POM Wonderful Pomegranate Cherry Juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, rum extract, torn fresh mint leaves

Directions:

1. Place 1/2 cup each: POM X Pomegranate Peach Passion White Tea, POM Wonderful Pomegranate Cherry Juice, pineapple juice and orange juice, 1/8 tsp. rum extract (or to taste) and 12 torn fresh mint leaves into 2 tall glasses.

2. Add ice cubes and stir well.

3. Garnish with lemon wedges.

Makes 2 drinks.
