AnnaSophia Robb Talks About The Carrie Diaries

Actress AnnSophia Robb joined Good Day Sacramento on Friday via Satellite to talk about the popular CW show The Carrie Diaries, in which she plays a younger version of Carrie in Sex in the City.

Carrie Diaries is doing well in the ratings across the nation and in Sacramento. Robb says the show is successful because it's smart, just like Sex in the City.

"Once I started watching it for this series I became a huge fan. It's such a smart show. And we try to capture that for a different audience – for a younger Carrie…we have a good time," said Robb. "There are definitely times in Sex in the City where you kind of, your jaw drops open, and I think that's what makes it so appealing," said Robb. "And we have a little bit of that in our show. But it's appropriate for our audience, I'd say."

Robb initially turned down the role because she says she was applying to college, and didn't think she'd have time to act. But she changed her mind when she read through the scripts and realized just how good it was. And we're glad she did!

Lastly, we asked Robb if she watched the recent SNL skit that spoofed Carrie Diaries. It's called Sopranos Diaries.

"We watched it with the cast. We were celebrating the birthday of the guy who plays Walt," said Robb, laughing.

Carrie Diaries airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CW31.
