These Boots Are Made For Cheering, Marriage, Football

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - I don't know about y'all, but I'm BEYOND thankful it's football season! Knowing we have a Thursday night game with Cowboys vs. Texans on our station tonight got me thinking about when I cheered for the Arizona Cardinals.
Our Game Day boots were an important part of our uniform. Like the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, we too dance in white boots. So, it was only fitting that, when I got married, I wore boots too!
I spent time designing my boots, drawing the Prince Charming and Cinderella (that's what I call my husband and myself) on the sides, figuring out where I wanted the hearts and colors to be dispersed. I then sent the idea to Jacqi Bling, who is the BLING MASTER here in Texas. She's blinged boots for celebrities and pageant winners, and adds crystals to shoes, hats, saddles, Yeti cups and so much more! Check out her Facebook page to see her work.
When I opened the box and saw these blinged boots for the first time, my heart skipped a beat. I had the biggest butterflies knowing I would be wearing something custom and symbolic on my wedding day.
For my mom and bridesmaids, I also got boot straps blinged out with their initials as a surprise gift. They wore brown boots and those crystal straps for our wedding.
During the reception, I not only changed into a shorter dress to reveal the boots, but I had a second grand entrance with my Cardinals Cheerleaders! We put on a show for my husband, his groomsmen and all of our guests with a routine I came up with using a remix to a Luke Bryan song.
Even though I had retired from cheering a couple years prior, once I had the pom poms, boots, bling and the high energy, it felt like Game Day all over again! I'm sure everyone at the game will be feeling that energy tonight!
Happy Game Day, and don't forget your boots! I wore mine this morning for the first time since my wedding!
