DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Greg Hardy made his final exit from a Cowboys locker room following a Week 16 loss at AT&T Stadium while telling 105.3 The Fan's Ben Rogers and myself that the free-agent pass-rusher wished to remain a Cowboy because it's "Awesome, awesome, awesome and awesome.''
The Cowboys themselves have come up with even more reasons than that to part ways with the talented-but-tulmultuous standout, a $13-million-a-year talent if not for his issues ... which will no longer be Dallas' issues.
Sources tell me Dallas has decided to not retain Hardy, who was paid $8.8-mil last year on an incentive-laded plan that netted the Cowboys just six sacks. Still, his on-the-field performance isn't the top issue.
What I've termed on 105.3 The Fan his "Uptown Flu'' is the issue.
Hardy's behavior - and even his attendance - was a bit too erratic for his Valley Ranch bosses, who feel like they offered him new life after his domestic-violence case forced him away from Carolina.
Now Greg Hardy will get another start ... somewhere other than Dallas.
