DALLAS (CBS11) – A gathering of the minds happens this weekend to once again analyze the presidency and assassination of John F. Kennedy nearly 53 years later.

For the twenty-first year in a row, the JFK Lancer is hosting its annual conference at the Adolphus Hotel in Downtown Dallas.

The founder of the JFK Lancer, Debra Conway, said the fascination surrounding JFK, his life and his assassination is stronger than ever.

Conway said attendees to the conference come from all over the world.

"There are a lot of people from all different ages that were so moved by his death," said Conway.

Conway said the people who gather for the conference aren't conspiracy theorists.

Instead, she said they are a collection of historians, researchers and professionals who share their findings.

Eye witnesses and others who played a role on the day President Kennedy died will also be on hand to share anecdotes.

"Our group loves documentation," said Conway.  "We rely on it."

The JFK Lancer website says, "Our goal is to make research materials concerning Kennedy's assassination easily available to everyone. Our prime concern is the accuracy of history and the true story of the turbulent 1960s."

The conference runs through Sunday.
