Rangers To Open 2015 Season In Oakland

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- The Texas Rangers will host the Houston Astros in the club's 2015 home opener following a four-game series in Oakland to begin the season.

The complete 2015 schedule was announced on Monday.

The Rangers begin the season on April 6 in Oakland, before returning home for the April 10 home opener versus Houston.

Here are some notes on the Rangers 2015 schedule:

-- This will mark the 20th time the Rangers have opened on the road in 44 seasons.

-- Texas has opened the season three times against Oakland -- 1974 in Arlington and 2002 and 2004 at Oakland.

-- The April 10 home opener against Houston is the team's latest home opener since 2005 (April 11).

-- Texas will play 20 interleague games against the 5 NL West clubs (Dodgers, Giants, Padres, Rockies, Diamondbacks)

-- Texas will play each AL West opponent 19 times.

Texas will close out the season with seven straight home games at Globe Life Park in Arlington, hosting the Detroit Tigers for three games and the Angels for four.
