Protesters Gather Outside Judge Clay Jenkins Home

Dallas (CBSDFW.COM) - Protesters gathered outside of Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins house Saturday morning.

They held large signs with anti-illegal immigration messages on them. The rally was organized by Overpasses for America, a Tea Party group.

The group's organizers spread the word through a Facebook post.

The Facebook page encouraged participants to bring the American Flag and Signs.

Some protesters even went door-to-door canvasing.

One concerned mom and protester said she isn't anti-children but against the process.

" We are all for the children. We are protesting the way this has been handled. That Clay Jenkins simply announced we would be taking in thousands of children."

The goal of having several shelters open by the end of the month won't happen. After a Federal team accessed the proposed buildings it was determined that the buildings wouldn't be ready.

The Judge said he is committed to the aid of illegal immigrant children staying in this country.

Judge Jenkins was not at home of the time of the protest because he is out of town.
