FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Families and cyclists will 'Gear Up to End Hunger' on Saturday, Oct. 8, benefiting the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

Mayor Betsy Price is the honorary chair and will lead the event.

Cyclists can choose from a 10-mile route through downtown Fort Worth, a 25-mile route that adds on the Cultural District and Clearfork, or a family ride around the block.

The ride will begin and end at the Fort Worth Water Gardens and will conclude with an after-party featuring complimentary refreshments provided by Salsa Limón, Sassy Hot Dogs, Alchemy Pops and Wild Acre Brewing Company.

Each dollar contributed to Gear Up to End Hunger equates to five meals for hungry children, families and seniors in Tarrant Area Food Bank's 13-county service region.

Online registration ends at noon on Friday, Oct. 7. On-site registration will be available starting at 7 a.m. on the day of the ride.
