Hurst Teen Posing As 6th Grader Charged With Indecency With Child

HURST (CBSDFW.COM) -- Police say that 17-year-old Ricardo Lugo has been charged with indecency with a child for fondling a third grade student at an elementary school in Hurst.

According to authorities, Lugo was posing as a 12-year-old sixth-grade student at Hurst Hills Elementary School. He attended the school from August until his arrest in November.

Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD issued the following statement on Friday.

"The Hurst Police Department informed the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD that they will file a criminal case today against Ricardo Lugo. The police have identified one victim, a third grade student at Hurst Hills Elementary School.

Parents of students at Hurst Hills Elementary School received this information this morning using the HEB ISD phone messaging system."

Detectives say that Lugo was working with 28-year-old Randy Wesson, who has admitted to abusing more than 100 children.

Wesson posed as Lugo's father and enrolled him into classes at the Hurst campus. Wesson reportedly told police that Lugo was being used to lure children.

Authorities raided the home occupied by Wesson and Lugo in November, where they seized a large amount of evidence of child pornography and exploitation of children. Wesson told police that he possessed more than 42,000 images of child pornography.

Investigators have been combing through the computers, phones, hard drives and other data storage devices.

The new charge carries a $50,000 bond, bringing his current bond to $300,000 total.
