A lot of folks in their early 20's are consumed with social media and sometimes called the "selfie" generation.

Nothing could be further from the truth for Taylor Murphy who at the tender age of 21 has started her own horse rescue ranch in Blue Ridge.

"I started working at a horse rescue a couple of years ago and just kind of found that was where my heart was" said Taylor Murphy of the Lone Star Rescue Ranch in Blue Ridge.

Taylor finds horses in need from all over Texas, brings them to the ranch and the healing process begins.

"Once they come in they begin the rehabilitation process.  Whether that is putting weight on, giving them more training or just getting them healthy again" Taylor added.

They have about ten horses and two baby donkeys on the ranch right now, but the numbers change weekly.

"I've got two available for adoption right now and I just adopted one out" Taylor recalled.

Folks can visit or volunteer at the Lone Star Rescue Ranch anytime or come see them as they spread holiday cheer at Big Tony's Pizza Tavern in McKinney Monday December 19th.

"Probably going to take Peaches and a donkey with us, and then hopefully have a small petting zoo from Cathy's Critters" Taylor noted.

Lone Star Rescue Ranch is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations go toward rescued animals and are tax deductible.
