AUSTIN (AP) — A Fort Worth man has been arrested on burglary and criminal mischief charges after a state trooper reported seeing him breaking into a second-floor window at the Texas Capitol.

Tanner Christian Graeber has been booked into the Travis County Jail after the 3:30 a.m. Sunday incident. No bond had been set for 22-year-old suspect, who could be sentenced to two years in state jail on each charge if convicted. No attorney is listed in jail records for Graeber.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says a state trooper saw a man approach the Capitol's south steps, enter a temporary wooden walkway, climb scaffolding on the Capitol's south front and breaking and entering a second-floor window.

Graeber also is accused of vandalizing a portrait of Civil War-era Lt. Gov. Fletcher Stockdale.
