For Mavs Homecoming, Jason Terry's Top 10 Shootaround Quotes

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Jason Terry and the Boston Celtics are at the AAC for Jet's first return since leaving the Dallas Mavericks via free agency last summer ... and Jet held court at the Friday morning shoot-around.

Destined to be a legend in DFW because of his personality, talent and contributions to the 2011 NBA champs, the always-talkative Jet offered up what we'll call his Top 10 Quotes:

1. On entering the AAC ...

"It feels good. It feels like home, as it should. ... I know how to get over there (to the visitor's locker room). It's not quite as nice and friendly over there, but I'm sure afterwards I'm going to go check out my old locker.''

2. On missing Dallas ...

"I shed tears when I had to leave. So I don't think I have any more left."

3. On Mark Cuban's offer of working for the Mavs following retirement ...

"Yeah, I was going to take him up on it at the All-Star Break. but I didn't see him. So we'll see what he says tonight.''

4. On spending time with friends and family while here (including having purchased 100 tickets for the game) ...

"I coached my kids (Thursday night). I've got a boys eighth-grade team, and a girls sixth-grade. I went up, we had practice, then had a parent meeting. Same old Jet.''

5. On his fondest Mavs memory ...

"Obviously, it's hoisting up the trophy. The parade, coming back in here and just being on the stage in front of all our fans. It was a memory I'll never forget.''

6. In playing in Boston ...

"It's fun in Boston, but Dallas is obviously a lot more special. ... We (the Celtics) are in a good place. We're fighting for a playoff positioning, and so again we are focused on getting a win.''

7. On watching the Mavs struggle ...

"It's tough because I'm still a Mavs fan at heart. But when you break up the team, that's what happens."

8. On what he believes might've been ...

"You like to have a fight for what you earned and we didn't get that opportunity. But I mean it's over now, we're past that disappointment. And we had to move on. ... We probably would have gotten better. We probably would have added a couple more pieces, but it didn't happen. You can't cry about it now."

9. On maybe being too hyped up for the game ...

"Not at all. I took my sedatives. I'm good. I'm mild-mannered, but I'm definitely going to take a flight on the runway."

10. On how he plans to impact the game from the start ...

"The first shot is definitely going to be a 3."
