ADDISON (CBSDFW.COM) - Addison police are investigating a dead body that was found in a pond at Winnwood Park Saturday.

Authorities identified the body as 24-year-old Jacobi McGee of Dallas.

Police say witnesses noticed what appeared to be a body floating in the pond.

The fire department responded to the call and pulled a male body out of the pond.

According to police, the body had signs of injury to the eye. One eye was swollen shut.

Authorities do not know how long the body was in the pond. Investigators believe the eye injury could be a sign of foul play or that the victim fell into the water.

Addison police requested a dive team from the Dallas Police Department to aid in searching the bottom of the pond for potential evidence.

Authorities say McGee was last seen in the early morning hours of December 27, and his mother had filed a missing person report after he failed to return home.

Police will continue to investigate the cause of death and initial investigation did not turn up any clear evidence of whether foul play or an accident was involved.
