Couple Killed Outside Their Dallas Home
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a couple outside of their North Dallas home early Wednesday morning. The incident happened just after midnight in the 5700 block of Marquita Avenue, located near Greenville Avenue.
The husband and wife who were killed owned an Ethiopian restaurant, and regularly worked 16-hour days. They had just gotten home from working at the restaurant when the gunman shot them dead on the front porch. The two victims have been identified as 40-year-old Yayehyirad Lemma and 31-year-old Yenenesh Desta. Their 18-month-old child was not injured during the incident.
Witnesses in the neighborhood reported hearing several gunshots, but there is no indication of a robbery. The possible motive is still unknown, and police have not yet named any suspects in the case. Investigators are continuing to talk with witnesses in hopes of learning more information about what may have happened before the shooting.
