Body Of Missing Man Found In Trunk At Impound Lot

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - A bizarre odyssey of a missing man ends with his body found in the trunk of his car -- that had been towed days earlier.

Bob Alexander Brown was last seen alive a week ago Monday, but somehow over the next four days his body wound up at an east Fort Worth impound lot.

Brown, 39, spent time between his parents and his girlfriend's home, according to the girlfriend who told CBS 11 News she saw him Monday before she went to work. She said she talked to him on the phone Monday night.

But when Brown failed to pick up one of his two daughters as scheduled at daycare Tuesday, she got worried. Unknown to anyone, about the same time his car was being towed from an east side apartment to an auto impound lot.

According to the girlfriend, Brown's car was towed for being illegally parked at the Vistana Apartments complex, but nobody knew anything about it or put the seemingly unrelated actions together. When the girlfriend filed a missing person's report Wednesday the car was already at the impound lot.

According to her it wasn't until Thursday that police located Brown's vehicle and Friday before the trunk was opened to reveal his body inside. Officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office report that Brown died from multiple gunshot wounds.

His girlfriend described Brown as a nice man who -- though he didn't call any one address as home -- nonetheless spoke with her and his mother daily.

Police report no suspects or arrests at this time, and so far have offered no explanation about what happened to Brown or why.
