Best Places To Grab A Microbrew In Dallas

With the recent celebration of the 11th Annual American Craft Beer Week, there's one thing that's on my mind - heading to a great Dallas bar and kicking back with a beer that doesn't have a vortex, color-coded, wide-mouthed bottle. When you're looking for a straight up good beer, these are the places to go:

It's hard to believe that a year has passed since we've been blessed with the magic that is Meddlesome Moth. Their beer selection (and their food selection, for that matter) takes you right out of your comfort zone and into some otherworldly beer experience. From local seasonals to new beer types from around the globe, the bartenders at Meddlesome know what's up, and can guide you on your way to beer nirvana.
Insider tip: Get there early - happy hour is until 7, and you can grab some drafts for just 4 bucks!

Pizza and beer. They go together like... Dallas and outrageously hot weather. 635 and traffic. You get the idea. Eno's has that down pat - they're serving pizza topped with awesome sounding things like truffle oil, sport pepper and (oh yes) porkbelly, along with a beer list to challenge the best pubs in the city. Now on tap? Left Hand Milk Stout, Magic Hat #9 and Deschutes Red Chair NWPA.
Insider tip: They usually have one brew on the fire sale list, so you can grab a great brew for a great price.

And speaking of places to kick back with a pint, be sure to add Anvil Pub in Deep Ellum to your list. They pour a great pint of the Texas staples - Franconia, Rahr, 512, and mix it up with regular favorites - Sam Adams, New Belgium and Brooklyn. You can never doubt a pub where the beer menu is longer than the food options. Gingerman Pub in Uptown offers a two-story indoor bar area, as well as a massive dog-friendly patio with picnic-style seating. Their beer selection changes seasonally, and always has a great sampling from the best of American microbreweries.
Insider tip: Get there early (your boss won't mind). The prime patio seating fills up quickly, especially when the weather's nice.
