Arlington Police Baffled By Murder At Busy Apartment Complex

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Arlington police are trying to unravel a murder they say is baffling. A 911 call led them to a murder scene in a crowded apartment complex in the 2500 block of Park Village Drive in Arlington. And even though it is a busy apartment complex, apparently no one saw or heard anything when a 26-year old man was shot and killed there over the weekend.

"It is a mystery," said Arlington Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Rodriguez.

A strange 911 call told police just before noon Sunday they would find a body in an upstairs apartment. Police found Jonathan Lee Cole with a gunshot wound to the head. Cole did not live at the apartment, there was no sign of a break in and no neighbors saw anything suspicious.

"In fact, I can't even give you a specific time frame in which the offense occurred because the officers arrived around noon and canvassing the area we got nothing about any unusual noise or commotion," Sgt. Rodriguez said.

Olivia Fowler lives in the same building and was home Sunday morning.

"I would think I would've heard something," she said. "Maybe they had a silencer on it? I don't know."

Fowler says its just as strange the murder happened here in a complex normally free of problems.

Fowler said, "It's weird. You would think it would be somewhere, like, more hood. But, out here? It's Arlington. It's quiet. So not too much goes on. But you think you'd hear a gunshot. But we didn't hear anything."

Police say they really need the public's help in this case. They're asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers.
