SANTA ROSA, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police say two people were killed when their car rear-ended a truck slowing to exit westbound Interstate 40 near Santa Rosa and then was itself rear-ended by a second truck.

Those killed in the accident Monday afternoon were identified as 25-year-old Samuel Herrera and 24-year-old Katherine Herrera, both of Arlington, Texas.

According to police, the crash is still under indication but alcohol, weather and road conditions were not believed to be factors.
