Planning for a turkey dinner starts a week in advance

Butterball says Nov. 20 is National Thaw Day because it's the day to transfer a frozen whole turkey from the freezer to the fridge ahead of Thanksgiving 2025. The defrost process is among the steps in the traditional Thanksgiving dinner that the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line representatives are prepared to explain to holiday cooks during November and December.
