Michigan lawmaker speaks on proposed bills addressing student loans
Millions of people had their student loan payments resumed this month after payments were paused for three years. In Michigan, more than 1 million have student loans. Two bills have been proposed to create a tax credit for Michiganders who are paying off their student loans. Rep. Phil Skaggs, who sponsored the bills, joined CBS News Detroit on Tuesday to discuss what he hopes for in the future.
