Who Should Control Detroit Public Schools?
The debate over who should control the Detroit Public Schools goes before the City Council today.
It'll be up to the council to decide whether to pass a resolution that would allow voters to decide in November whether to eliminate the school board and make Mayor Dave Bing responsible for the district.
Council President Charles Pugh said he supports putting the issue on the ballot, although he doesn't believe there are enough votes to pass the measure.
