Warren Cop Injured, Knocked Unconscious In Crash

WARREN (WWJ) - A Warren police officer is hospitalized after his patrol car was t-boned.

Police Chief Jere Green says Officer Jason Harvey responding to the scene of an accident involving a school bus, on Ryan Road at 13 Mile, when his vehicle was struck.

Harvey had his lights and sirens on as he went through the light and was struck by a car, Green said. The officer was knocked unconscious in the crash and transported to the trauma center at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.

Green said Harvey is suffering from some hip and back pain and has some bumps and bruises, but he's expected to be OK. The other driver suffered a knee injury.

The crash is under investigation.
