VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) - A Van Buren Township resident is dead after his boat capsizes on Belleville Lake.

According to the Van Buren Township Public Safety Department, they received a call from a boater around 5:30 Saturday evening who told them a boat occupied by two men had capsized. One of the men was able to make it to shore, but the second boater couldn't be found.

Officers and Fire Department personnel with the Van Buren Township Police were dispatched to the scene, along with officers from the Marine Division, the Wayne County Sheriff's Marine Division, the Van Buren Township Dive Team and Huron Valley Ambulance.
