Austin Jackson might…let me repeat might, need a stop in Toledo if this continues for another 7-10 days or so. Jackson has flaws all over his approach and swing and teams have fully exposed them. He's a smart and talented kid and should make some adjustments. If not? Give him the Scherzer treatment early and send him down for an eye opener and a tune up.
For what seems like the millionth time I will repeat…Rick Porcello is NOT an elite young arm. He has no out pitch and his sinking fastball hasn't had a shred of break to it in nearly 18-months. Unless he develops an out pitch or somehow rediscovers how to get his bread and butter back, he'll continue to get shelled as teams sit on his limited arsenal.
Verlander through three starts has been very solid. It is a welcome change from his brutal usual April outings. This team's start is not his fault.
How long until we get the Jacob Turner phone calls? I'm dead serious? I've never had faith in Brad Penny, you know my thoughts on Ricky P…and Coke is lone lefty so he must stay. Don't be shocked if by June 1st if there are not only cries for but also legitimate reasons to tab Mr. Turner.
Be careful dismissing the Tigers bad start. The April schedule is prom night compared to the month of May. Series like Baltimore and Kansas City at home were opportunities that you won't get back. Just don't bury yourself early. Tigers need a huge West coast trip or April could provide some serious ground to cover.
