Suspicious packages at University of Detroit Mercy deemed non-threatening, officials say
The University of Detroit Mercy says classes on its McNichols campus will resume Wednesday after suspicious packages that prompted building evacuations on Tuesday were determined to be non-threatening.
School officials say that at about 5:20 p.m. on Oct. 13, an employee reported two packages outside the Student Union. The University Public Safety Department and Detroit police investigated the packages.
Officials say all buildings are now clear and available.
Detroit Mercy did not release any additional information at this time.
