Nicknamed "Shoelace" as a youth because did not want to tie his shoes, his untied Adidas cleats have taken a featured role, even worthy of NBC close-ups Saturday.
The Velcro strap securing them to his feet is not actually an addition but a standard piece on the "Superfly" shoe model (specifically the Adidas Reggie 2 Superfly, named for New Orleans Saints star Reggie Bush).
