I-696 Closed This Weekend In Macomb County
DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! To avoid delays and traffic jams, don't forget to check on the following construction projects before heading out this weekend.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-696:
In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-696 is closed between Hoover Road and Groesbeck Highway until 5 a.m. Monday for bridge demolition. During the full closure, all traffic will be routed to the Service Drives.
In Macomb County, the left lane of westbound I-696 will be closed at Mound Road from 10 p.m. Friday until noon on Sunday for sign foundation work.
I-275:
In Wayne County, the northbound and southbound I-275 ramps to westbound I-94 will be closed starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept 30 until the end of October. All traffic looking to access westbound I-94 will be detoured onto eastbound I-94 to Vining Road to access the westbound lanes. The ramp closures are needed for the upcoming bridge rehabilitation work where I-94 crosses over Hannan Road, located just west of the interchange.
I-94:
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between Haggerty and Wayne roads starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept 30 until the end of October for bridge rehabilitation on I-94 over Hannan Road, located just west of the I-94/I-275 interchange.
I-96:
In Oakland County, the eastbound I-96 ramp to northbound M-5 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday for pavement repair. A detour will be posted.
In Wayne County, rolling two lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-96, between Wyoming Ave and Newburgh Road, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for detailed bridge inspections.
In Detroit, eastbound I-96 will be reduced to a single lane at Scotten Road (near West Grand Blvd) from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for pavement repair.
M-150 (Rochester Road):
In Oakland County, a permit has been issued to allow for intermittent full closures on northbound and southbound Rochester Road at University Drive from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday for the Brooksie Way Marathon race.
US-24:
In Oakland County, northbound Telegraph will have a single lane closure at Orchard Lake Road daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday, Oct 3 and ending Friday, Oct. 7.
US-24 Business Route (Dixie Highway):
In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Dixie Highway will have single lane closures between Warren Drive and Williams Lake Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and again from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
M-39:
In Wayne and Oakland Counties, M-39 Southfield Freeway will remain closed between the Lodge Freeway and Grand River Avenue until middle October.
