Tigers Will Only Go As Far As Their Starting Pitching Takes Them

No other aspect of baseball has changed more than starting pitching.

Baseball used to have four-man starting rotations. Now they have five.

Last season, James Shields of the Tampa Bay Rays threw 11 complete games. In the process, he became the first major league pitcher since 1998 to reach double figures in a season for complete games pitched.
