Tigers Reinstate David Purcey
The Tigers today reinstated left-handed pitcher David Purcey from the paternity list. His wife gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, on Saturday night.
As expected to create room on the 25-man roster, the Tigers optioned left-handed pitcher Andy Oliver to Triple-A Toledo. Oliver started two games for the Tigers, posting a 0-1 record and 6.52 ERA.
