Tigers Call Up Below From Triple-A
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The Detroit Tigers have recalled left-hander Duane Below from Triple-A Toledo.
Detroit also put right-handers Al Alburquerque and Luis Marte on the 15-day disabled list. The team announced the moves Wednesday, when the Tigers faced Toledo in an exhibition game.
Alburquerque had surgery in December for a non-displaced stress fracture in his throwing elbow. Marte has a strained left hamstring.
Below pitched 14 games last year for the Tigers, allowing 14 earned runs in 29 innings.
