Schools Closed, Thousands Without Power
Thousands of kids get the day off from school Monday morning and DTE Energy says about 40,000 of its customers are still without service Monday morning, following this weekend's snowstorm.
Speaking live on WWJ, DTE spokesman John Austerberry says they restored power to 30,000 customers overnight, but they know their work's far from over.
"The winds are gonna be whipping today and that's probably gonna cause us additional outages, even as we're making repairs and restoring customers," Austerberry said.
Austerberry says, in some cases, road conditions are slowing their efforts to reach problem areas.
