Terry Foster: Wayne State Does It Paul Winters' Way: Next Stop, National Title Game

Detroit Wayne State coach Paul Winters celebrated a spot in the Division II football finals by watching television for half an hour Saturday night and falling asleep.

On Sunday, while thousands gathered a few miles down the road to root for the Lions, Winters gathered with his coaches to look over game tape and conduct team meetings. On Monday he will get up before sunrise to game plan for Pittsburg State (12-1), the Warriors' opponent in Saturday's game in Florence, Ala. It has been his daily routine since this monthlong postseason marathon that has brought excitement to Detroit's midtown began.
