Tom Gores (pictured, right) will be the next owner of the Pistons. That's my prediction, and these words made be believe it: "He's family."

Gores and his team enjoyed the Pistons' game against San Antonio with current owner Karen Davidson and her team Tuesday night. Reporters converged on the little party, and while Gores and Davidson were polite, they said little.

But Davidson said those words that hinted of a pending sale: "He's family."

He's family, huh?

That means Gores is in the house. It might not be a done deal yet, but my guess is we will be hearing something in the next few days about a Pistons ownership change. And it is badly needed.

Pistons players are tired of the team being in limbo, without leadership and direction. The Pistons have limped for too long. Now it's time for them to pick themselves off the deck, brush themselves off and become a real NBA franchise again.
