Take Virtual Field Trips

Museums have invested heavily in getting into the Internet world, and bringing their collections to people on their computers and handheld devices.

Examples include the American Museum of Natural History, which has developed an application called Cosmic, which allows parents and kids to see some spectacular imagery of space without leaving their home. The application even includes a mosaic that kids can zoom in on to see different exhibits of the museum.

Art museums such as the Louvre in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York have also placed some of their collection online, making them more accessible to kids and parents across the world.
