Southfield (CW50) - On this week's STREET BEAT, April Moss gives our viewers a look into Detroit's history and culture. First, she speaks with the Detroit Historical Society's Executive Director and CEO, Elana Rugh, about how they help to promote Detroit history not only in the museum walls but also throughout the city.
Then, we learn about the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History with Jonathan Jones, Educator and community Outreach Coordinator.
Next, the Detroit Institute of Arts' Charles Garling, Director of Studio Programs, tells us how arts and culture helped them to become the town square of our community.
Lastly, April speaks to Lonni Thomas, Market Manager of Eastern Market to learn how the oldest market in the United States is still holding strong connecting local business to the community.
