Stowaway Kittens Travel Over 1,000 Miles In Hazardous Material Truck

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two stowaway kittens made a toxic journey that started in Louisiana and ended Friday in Detroit. The brother - sister act, named Bonnie and Clyde, began the journey four days and 1,123 miles ago after climbing into the bed of a hazardous material truck carrying flammable chemicals this past weekend.

Upon arriving in Detroit, Bonnie and Clyde were picked up by the Michigan Humane Society (MHS) Rescue team and immediately transported to the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care.

Working with the Department of Waste Management, MHS staff examined, cleaned and decontaminated the pair of any potential toxins. Bonnie and Clyde are six-weeks old and MHS says they are very friendly and would love to have more adventures together under one roof.
