Stoney's Play Of The Day
By: Mike Stone

When your stud pitcher only goes 4 innings it usually signifies a loss, and that's what happened to the Pirates and Gerrit Cole last night in Milwaukee. The Brewers jumped to a 5-0 lead and held on to beat Pittsburgh 7-4.
Tonight Max Scherzer and the Nationals conclude their game season with the Cardinals in St.Louis. The Redbirds send Michael Wacha and his 15-4 record and his 2.69 ERA to the mound.
Wacha has been great in his last three starts with an 0.95 ERA and a WHIP of 1.158. Scherzer has struggled lately as his 7.31 ERA and 1.50 WHIP will attest.
I am going to play the hot hand and take Wacha and his Cardinals -120 over Washington as my PLAY OF THE DAY
Yesterday Pirates -155 over Brewers -- LOSS
Overall record -- 18-9
