1 found dead in Southfield parking lot; suspect in custody
(CBS DETROIT) — Police in Southfield have taken a person into custody after an adult was found dead in a parking lot Sunday morning, authorities say.
Officers and personnel with the Southfield Fire Department responded to the 25000 block of Shiawassee Road for a report of an unresponsive person around 10:14 a.m. Responding authorities found someone described in the press release as "an adult biological male" lying in a parking lot of the Riverstone Apartments with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to his head, officials said. He died at the scene.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim is known to the suspect," police said in a release.
Since the initial report, police have taken a 28-year-old man from Southfield "into custody for questioning."
"At this time, there appears to be no additional threat to the public," the followup report said.
