Saline's Sensors Inc. In Distribution Agreement
Saline-based Sensors Inc., which builds emissions test equipment, and the French gas monitoring equipment company AP2E, Monday announced that the two companies have signed a global distribution agreement covering products incorporating AP2E technology for the engine emission market.
Effective immediately, Sensors will integrate AP2E's gas analyzers into Sensors' Semtech family of products. The new line of instrumentation will be branded with the Semtech Lasar name and its addition to Sensors' product range is particularly timely given the worldwide interest in measuring pollutants from vehicles operating with a wide range of engine configurations, fuel types and different after-treatment systems.
The Semtech Lasar is an optical feedback, cavity enhanced laser absorption spectrometer, capable of measuring both trace levels and high concentrations of a wide range of gases. This high precision, multi-gas analyzer measures parts per billion to high percent levels of several critical pollutants, including: CH4, NH3, N2O, NO, NO2, CO2, CO, H2O, H2, O2, HCHO, CH3CHO, CH3OH, C2H5OH, C2H6, H2S, SO2, SO3, C2H2 and C2H4.
The analyzers are designed with no moving parts, hygroscopic optics or liquid nitrogen cooling requirements and, therefore, have wide applicability for both industrial and on-board vehicle applications. The system offers other advantages in fast response, interference, range of calibration, and simultaneous measurement of both trace and high concentrations of pollutants being analyzed.
AP2E , based in Aix-en-Provence, France, was founded in 2006 by experts in the field of on-line gas monitoring. In 2008, AP2E formed a collaborative agreement with the Laboratory of Physical Spectrometry at the Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble, France, to develop a revolutionary new class of gas analyzers based on enhanced laser technology. These products enable multi-component, trace gas analysis in many different applications, including combustion product analysis, biogas, syngas (including measurement of hydrogen by infrared spectroscopy) and emissions from vehicle exhaust and industrial process plants.
Sensors Inc. was founded in 1969, and has evolved to become the leader in developing innovative gas analysis technology, primarily for use in the transportation industry. The company has four decades of experience and expertise in the design and manufacture of measurement systems that are widely distributed throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.
