Red Wings Sign 2012 Draft Pick Martin Frk To Entry-Level Contract

Detroit, MI...The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Martin Frk (ferk) has been signed to a three-year entry-level contract. In accordance with club policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Selected by Detroit with the club's first pick, second round (49th overall), in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the 19-year-old winger spent the past two seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Frk tallied 79 points (38G-41A) in 96 games for the Mooseheads. The 6'0", 198-lb. forward also represented his native Czech Republic at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championships, recording 3G-3A-6P in six games.
