Police Recover Vehicle Stolen From Murdered Warren Woman
WARREN (WWJ) -- Police have found the car belonging to a Warren grandmother who was found dead inside her apartment this week.
Warren Mayor Jim Fouts says a blue station wagon belonging to Donna Lawrence, 62, was found Saturday in Royal Oak. Lawrence was found murdered in her apartment, at Schoenherr and 13 Mile Road, on Wednesday.
Anthony Iannotti is a person-of-interest who remains on the loose. Fouts said Iannotti, an acquaintance of the victim, is believed to be the man who was seen knocking on Lawrence's windows the morning of her death, then driving off in her car.
Iannotti is to be considered armed and dangerous. He has a criminal history including convictions for assault with intent to do great harm, aggravated stalking and fleeing police.
"He's very dangerous," Fouts said in an interview with WWJ's Sandra McNeill on Friday. "He committed an extremely violent crime. He's known to fly into fits of rages and that's when he can be dangerous."
Lawrence, a mother and grandmother, was found dead by family members, lying on the kitchen floor with a head wound, according to reports.
Her apartment was ransacked. Along with her vehicle, police said her purse was taken.
Anyone with information should contact police right away.
