Police: Man Ejected From Vehicle, Alcohol May Be Factor

TROY (WWJ) - Police in Troy say a driver was ejected from his vehicle during a late night accident on I-75.

The man was apparently driving northbound on I-75 near Crooks Road at a high rate of speed just before midnight Tuesday.

Police say the man lost control of his pick-up truck when he attempted to go around an SUV which was travelling at approximately 65 mph in the center lane. The pick-up truck clipped the front right corner of the SUV, hit the guard rail and rolled over.

Police say the driver of the pick-up was ejected and rushed to Royal Oak Beaumont hospital with what's described as "substantial" injuries. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call the Troy Police Department at 248-524-3477.
