Pistons' No. 1 Pick Greg Monroe Makes His Debut, Scores

There weren't many smiles in the Pistons' locker room Saturday night after the team blew a 21-point lead against the Bulls, but Greg Monroe couldn't help but crack a smile at one question.
The first-round pick was asked whether he had ever come off the bench. He grinned and said that had never happened.
Monroe also could smile because finally -- after two DNPs-coach's decision to start his career -- coach John Kuester called his number in the second quarter of the 101-91 loss.
He scored the first basket of his career on a put-back after an offensive rebound. He didn't play in the second half and finished with two points on 1-for-1 shooting in 7 minutes. He had three rebounds and three fouls.
