"We control our own destiny," said Todd Bertuzzi, whose third-period goal was the difference in the Red Wings' 3-2 victory over Columbus Thursday. "This room is pretty confident right now. We are playing well, doing the right things, winning the close games. We are doing stuff now that we will need to do to win in the playoffs."

It was the Wings' seventh straight victory and runs their point streak to 11 games (10-0-1). It keeps them in sixth place in the West, one point behind Nashville, whom they play Saturday.
