PAT CAPUTO: UM Win Over San Diego State A More Significant Step Than Notre Dame Victory. WITH VIDEO
It wasn't a spectacle like the Notre Dame game.
It wasn't under the lights. Michigan didn't break out their "legacy" uniforms.
There was no rally down 17 points in the second half. There weren't two touchdowns scored by Michigan in the final 1:12 to win it.
Actually, the buzz for this game was minimal in comparison. And at times, it dragged and bordered on boring.
Yet, Michigan's 28-7 victory over San Diego State Saturday was more significant in the bigger picture for Wolverine coach Brady Hoke's work-in-progress.
