Pat Caputo- Detroit Tigers Should Not Be Sellers

I don't know if the Tigers will be buyers at the trade deadline next weekend, but I do feel strongly they should not be sellers.
For one thing, they don't, really, have anything to sell. The Tigers have a starting pitcher, Jeremy Bonderman, who is eligible for free agency this winter, and may draw interest from other teams as a rent-a-pitcher for the remainder of the season. But not for what his value is currently to the Tigers at the end of the rotation. The Tigers are not going to get much of a prospect for Jeremy Bonderman, even if they pay the bulk of his pro-rated $12.5 million salary.
For another, contention for a postseason spot is a terrible thing to waste. Perception suggests on thing about the Tigers, the standings another.
I understand a lot of fans disagree with this notion, that to some the Tigers were done when they lost their first six games following the All-Star break, mirroring their uncanny track record of second-half collapses in recent seasons.
